Math Tools in Action Across the School
September 18, 2023
Good Morning Memorial Families,
We have a busy week ahead of us, beginning with our Open House opportunities tonight and tomorrow night. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, September 18th
6:00pm- PreK and Grade 3
7:00pm- Grade 4
Tuesday, September 19th
5:00pm- Grade K
6:00pm- Grade 1
7:00pm- Grade 2
Teachers will begin promptly at the time above with classroom presentations. Families will spend the first 30 minutes in your child’s classroom to receive an overview of class routines, the grade level curriculum, and to look around the classroom. After 30 minutes, you will be able to visit the fall book fair. Please be mindful of the time so that we are able to accommodate parking for all families who wish to attend.
As part of our school community, we participate in two different community building events each month. The first is our monthly All School Meetings. This Friday, we will be holding our first meeting of the year. In these meetings, the entire student body gathers in the cafeteria where we greet one another, celebrate birthdays, do an all school read aloud, celebrate the month’s positive office referrals, and participate in some sort of group activity. It is one of our favorite times of the month and we enjoy celebrating our community together. The second community building event is our “Family” meetings. All students have been placed into a small school “family” that includes approximately ten students from grades K-4 and an adult. Once a month, families get together to participate in an activity together for about 30 minutes. Students remain in the same family throughout their time at Memorial, and each year we graduate our fourth graders and add in two new kindergarteners. Our first family meetings will be held on October 4th. Families are a way for us to connect with peers outside of our classroom and grade, and also for students to form a strong adult connection within the building that will ideally last throughout their time at Memorial.
Have a wonderful week!
Warmly,
Wendy and Lauren

Our school hours are 8:45am-3:15pm. Drop off begins at 8:45 and students who arrive after 9:00am are considered tardy. We will begin dismissal right around 3:15pm.
Due to the hectic nature of the late afternoon, we will no longer be allowing parent dismissals from the main office after 2:45pm. If your child has an appointment, please plan to dismiss him/her earlier, or make use of our pick up line at 3:15pm. Thank you for understanding.
