RURAL CLUSTER SCHOOLS JUNIOR PLAY DAY
On Monday 10th June 2019 Room 1 and Room 2 will be attending the Rural Cluster Schools Junior Play Day at the Midhirst Hall. We will be travelling to and from Midhirst Hall by bus. We will need to leave school by 9.20am. We will be back before lunchtime. This is an event where the students perform a short play in front of an audience. It is not a competition and it is about the students giving it a go and having fun. Unfortunately due to the fire restrictions and numbers, parents are unable to watch unless they are helping with supervision. Room 1 and 2 will be performing their play at our School Assembly on Friday 14th June 2019 and parents/whanau are welcome to attend and watch this then. School Assembly is at 12.30pm on this day.

SCHOOL LUNCHES
We are on the lookout for some extra parents to help with making school lunches on a Friday. You would only need to commit to one Friday per term. If you think you can spare some time to assist with this, we would really appreciate it. Please contact: office@toko.schoo.nz or 067622849

Year 5 & 6 Rippa Tournament
On Tuesday all of the Year 5 & 6 children ventured in to Stratford Primary to play in a Rippa Rugby tournament. We had 3 teams entered into the event, 2 competitive teams (Toko 1 & Toko 2) and 1 non competitive teams (Toko 3). Toko 2 & 3 had a mixed bag with both wins and losses while Toko 1 went unbeaten for the day and won the tournament. They now head to Yarrows Stadium next Friday 14th June for the Champion of Champions Tournament. Well done to everyone involved and all the best to our Toko 1 team next week.
Tukapa Sevens Competition
We had a few children competing in the Tukapa Sevens Tournament which was held on Monday. Our players combined with Stratford Primary School and St Josephs to make up numbers. Jamie H, Sam and Zack’s team won their grade and Arlo’s team finished 4th.
Jones Cup Practices
These start tomorrow at 2.15pm until 3pm. All children in Year 5-8 are involved. If you are playing rugby please ensure you bring a mouthguard and netballers remember your sneakers.
Crowley Cup
Crowley Cup is a sports competition for Year 5 & 6. It is a netball, rugby and hockey competition between primary schools from around the Stratford area out to Opunake. Due to big numbers the children involved are those who have chosen to play in the event. It is going to be held on Monday 1st of July.
Practices will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 2.15-3pm on the 12th, 19th and 26th of June. Children need to ensure they bring the correct gear for practices. Rugby players will need mouthguards, netballers correct footwear and hockey players require mouthguards, shin pads, socks and sticks. For those who don’t usually play hockey and are wanting to give it a go, we have sticks at school they can use and will borrow shin pads and socks from others to ensure they have the opportunity to play.
At this stage we have a hockey coach but no rugby or netball coach so if you are able to help out please email rebecca.jury@toko.school.nz
Queens Birthday Hockey Festival
We had a number of Toko children competing in this at the Stratford turf over the weekend. Children were put into teams on the day with other children from a range of schools. A special mention must go to Lockie, Arlo, Amelia, Holly, Charlotte, Aidan, Tyler and Caitlin's team who won the tournament.
