PTO Sponsored March is Reading Month Activities
Ojibwa Owls,
This week, we will be sending the attached flyer and bingo card home to kick off our Read-A-Thon fundraiser and fun reading incentives for March is Reading Month! We hope getting this home before the break will allow students an opportunity to get started on our week off.
All fundraising is being done online via FundHub like our last few programs and officially starts on Friday, February 17th-March 10th. We are also asking students to track their minutes read for classroom incentives AND a new exciting incentive that doesn't require any fundraising!
Track your minutes read on your FundHub page and you can earn 1 FREE ticket to a game at Jimmy Johns Field this summer! All of Ojibwa students that qualify will be attending the same game where they will be recognized on the field for their reading achievements.
- ECSE students - Parents read with your student for 100 total minutes between 2/17-3/10
- Kindergarten - 2nd grade - Read 200 total minutes between 2/17-3/10
- 3rd-5th grade - Read 300 total minutes between 2/17-3/10
*Minutes MUST BE tracked on your FundHub profile to count towards this incentive*
*Date of game will be determined at a later date once the season's schedule is finalized*
To help encourage this fun incentive, Buzz the mascot (from Jimmy Johns Field) will be ready to walk around from each classroom for a few minutes to remind the children to read starting at 1:30PM (end time must be by 2:45pm) on Friday, March 3rd.
Classroom Incentives (because we know this is a competitive bunch)
- Top 3 classrooms with overall highest dollars earned will have a class pizza party!
- Top 3 classes with minutes read will earn bonus Scholastic Dollars to purchase items for their classrooms + and have a special donut day for their classroom.
Thank you for supporting this program with us! Please reach out with any questions.
