Dear Manning Families,

It’s official! We’ve begun the 23/24 school year! It has been great having our Manning Mustangs back in the building! Coming up this Thursday, August 24th, is our annual back-to-school night and celebration from 4:45-8pm. This is a great opportunity to meet your student’s teachers, follow their daily schedule, and connect with other members of the Manning community. We’ll have music and a variety of food trucks for this event as well. We look forward to seeing you there!

Back to School Night | Plan to attend Manning’s Back to School Night on August 24th, from 5-8PM. You will have an opportunity to walk with your child to meet each of their teachers and hear a little about expectations for the school year. Be sure to stick around for food truck fun!

Fall Fest | Save the date for Manning’s Fall Fest; our largest annual fundraising event of the year. This year’s event will take place on Friday, October 6. There are many ways to contribute, so please watch the newsletter for ways to get involved. Historically, StuCo has hosted a school dance at the same time. This year, that dance will be held on Friday, October 27th. Mark your calendar for both!

Access Room Parents Needed | We are looking for one parent per access class to work behind the scenes with the teacher to support the class vision for activities like door decorating competitions or Fall Fest baskets. These activities are a welcomed event by the students and we’re trying to better support them by easing the load for the teacher. The parent will receive the class-voted on ideas from the teacher to then create a sign-genius to share with the parents in that classroom. Time commitment is low and all done from the comfort of your home! If this sounds like the gig you’ve been waiting for, please complete this short form and we’ll set it up!

Join The PTA | Please sign up for your PTA membership today! The PTA is integral in supporting our kids, teachers and staff. Membership is only $10 for the year and gives you the opportunity to vote. The more voices we have, the stronger our school is!

PTA Meeting | We hope you can join us for the first PTA Meeting of the 2023-24 school year September 21 at 3:45PM in the library. This is your opportunity to join the conversation on how we can best support our middles independence.

Volunteer Opportunities | Statistics show that youth do better in school when they have parents who are involved. That involvement looks different from person-to-person, so let us know what works for you here. With several programs and events returning this year, we will need all the hands we can get.

Open to any middle school student regardless of math level.

Join us on Thursday, August 24th from 3:30 - 4:00 in room N101 (Ms. Cahill's room) to find out more.

The meeting is geared towards students, but parents are welcome to attend to find out what Math Counts is all about.
