Registration is now open for the Bucks County SPCA's 2018 summer camp season. Camp SPCA is a half-day camp featuring lessons on empathy, compassion for animals, and practical ways of helping animals in our community, all in a fun and friendly environment. Campers ages 9-12 will learn about the Bucks County SPCA's shelters and the animals we care for though games and creative activities each day. We offer 5 week-long sessions of camp in July and August. Camp runs 9:00 am-noon from Monday-Friday. Registration is $150 per child (which includes snacks and a t-shirt) and scholarships are available thanks to a generous gift from the Lambertville Elks Lodge #1070. Treat your child to summer camp at Cambria Stables! Our camp program runs for multiple weeks from June-August at our beautiful facility in Yardley, Pa. The camp is held right in the barn area so your kids will be around the horses all day! Horsemanship lessons are taught daily by our knowledgeable counselors. This is a chance for the kids to learn about horses and not just riding. Some of the topics covered are horse breeds, first aid, basic care, and grooming. All the lessons are taught in a fun way including games, prizes and hands-on activities. The Dig/Arts Summer Camp is a creative adventure in the digital, performing and visual arts! Campers collaborate to create and produce 3 movies: your child can plan the story-board, create costumes, design scenery, star in the show, assist with the production and finally take home a DVD of each movie! Girls Empowered is offering 3 empowerment programs this summer:
Girls Leadership Program is the week of July 9th from 9 AM-12 PM and is held in Jamison, PA. This camp is for incoming 7th-9th grade girls who want to be leaders. Girls will learn the qualities of an effective leader, effective communication skills, healthy decision-making skills, self-care, setting healthy boundaries, and time and stress management. They will use their leadership skills to carry out a community service project.
Real World Girls is an empowerment program for incoming 9th-12th grade girls. It is being held the week of July 23rd from 9 AM-12 PM at the Hartsville Fire Company in Warminster, PA. This program will cover self-esteem/identity, stress and time management, healthy relationships, money management, and career/post-high school.
Camp Girl Power is the week of August 13th from 9 AM-3 PM and is held in Jamison, PA. This camp is for incoming 4th-6th grade girls. Topics covered include: self-esteem, self-identity, self-care, healthy relationships, leadership, and team building. Activities include: art projects, games, karate, yoga, relay races, small group discussions, and a nutrition lesson.
