National FCCLA Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids contest Kicks off This Week
This week National FCCLA kicked off this year's Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids Contest, challenging our students to Take Action to #BeTheFirst Tobacco-Free Generation. Specially designed instructions and lesson plans have been tailored to meet the needs of High School or Middle School Advisers and are available at fcclainc.org/programs/taking-down-tobacco.php. Individual students can also participate. A special mailing to Middle School Advisers, containing lesson plans targeted to middle-school level students, is going out in mid-August, just in time for the launch of the new school year. The first 100 chapters to report details about their training will be entered for a chance to win $100. FCCLA chapters that host a training for at least 75 youth can enter to win one of three $1,000 cash prizes. Chapters may also want to use this opportunity as a STAR Advocacy event and/or to apply for a Student Body National Program Award.
