Pool Opens at Noon Today

The pool will open at 12 p.m. today (6/30) after the swim team's mighty Relay Carnival ends!

Swimmers from all the teams in Division O will be competing for bragging rights in 'Roo waters this morning! Come and cheer them on!

The Kangaroo Kafe will be selling breakfast, lunch and snack food. Come and enjoy a great day at the pool!

Home Meets Coming Up

The 'Roos also will be hosting home meets Tuesday (7/2) and next Monday (7/8). The pool will close early (4 p.m.), but if you need a swim, you visit Parkland Pool. Their guest fees will apply.

There are no practices scheduled for July 4th.

Pizza Price Hike

We're holding Pizza Night at the Pool again today (6/30), after rafting starts at 5 p.m. Arrive for the yard games at 3-4:30 p.m. and make a day of it!

We've had to raise the price on the pizzas. The pizza comes from Ben Yehuda's. We'll be making it available for purchase right on the pool deck for $3.50 per slice, $6 for two slices and $22 for an entire pie, cash or credit (a transaction fee will apply for the latter).

Beverages also will be available for purchase from the Snack Bar.

We're getting a pre-order system set up soon so that you'' be able to pay in advance online and have pizza delivered to the pool without any further muss 'n fuss. More on that as it develops!

Swim Team Pairs with Holy Chow on Fundraiser

The Kemp Mill Kangaroos are excited to announce that Holy Chow, the kosher Chinese take-out restaurant in the Kemp Mill Shopping Center, will be giving the team a percentage of all sales it delivers to our pool this summer.

Free delivery will be offered at 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays through the end of the swim team season in July. (The restaurant's standard $5 delivery fee applies at all other times).

Just place your orders through the restaurant's website at https://holychow.me or by calling 301-649-5466.

It doesn't get better than that!

President's Corner

We're selling space on our fence to advertise businesses and services to our community.

If you're interested, please contact me at kmsc-president@kempmill.org or 301-938-3763.

Hold your birthday parties at the pool this summer!

Any member may host a pool party simply by contacting the membership director, Amie Wohlfarth, at kmsc-membership@kempmill.org or (240) 389-KMSC (5672) to reserve your date.

We'll keep the picnic area reserved for you and beef up staffing as necessary to accommodate the size of your group.

Guest passes may be used or the fee is $8 per non-member guest. Make sure to give Amie your planned headcount when you contact her!

We'll be expanding the number of picnic tables where you can eat by the Snack Bar this week. We've already cleared the way for picnicking at the two tables on the main pool deck closest to the baby pool.

We could use a few donations of more recycling bins from YOU. Please help!

We've got lots of room left in our swim lesson schedule for your young swimmers!

You can arrange private and semi-private lessons through our Swim Lessons Coordinator at KMSCLessons@gmail.com .

The one-time registration fee for members is $20 per swimmer for the season, to be paid to KMSC.

Non-members also are welcome. Their one-time registration fee is $30 per swimmer for the season, also payable to KMSC.

Each private, one-on-one lesson will cost an additional $30 per half hour, paid directly to the instructor.

Each semi-private lesson arranged for and shared by a group of two or three students and one instructor costs a total of $45 per half hour, also paid to the instructor.

These lessons are separate from the group instruction that's going on for the members of the pre-team Joeys.

The Joeys program requires registration with the team and is run by our swim team coaches on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:30-5 p.m.
