BCCA MESSENGER March 1, 2019
Harmoniously blending the work of redemption and education
Dear BCCA Families,
We are still going strong on our New Year's Resolution at Big Cove. Each day, we have worship and every Friday we have worship together as a whole school. We are finishing up the month of February with Spirit Week! It has been enjoyable to watch all of the students get excited to wear different outfits each day!
Looking toward March, we have Cross Examination coming up. Many of the students in my class are ecstatic about it. It's great to see youth be excited and even volunteer to plan a Sabbath. That is what we strive for at Big Cove. We want the students to be as excited about Cross Examination as they are about things like Spirit Week. It’s easy to get kids excited about dressing up, but it can be harder to get them excited about Jesus. The whole point of Adventist Christian Education is to get students to learn and be excited about Christ, so to see our youth be so passionate about Jesus lets me know we are doing our job well.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

We also learned what the eye of the potato is and how we can get multiple sprouts from one potato. Each cut potato was dipped in soft rock phosphate and planted about 12 inches apart. We prayed and are now waiting for the increase!

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does."
We all want our children to be blessed. So how do we keep them from walking in the counsel of the wicked? How do we keep them from setting their feet on the path of sinners or in the seat of mockers? First and foremost, we make sure our children feel comfortable seeking our counsel as parents. By God's grace, let's take the time to keep winning our children's hearts, that they will want our counsel. Let's take the time in our busy schedules to play with our children. Let's make sure that we are reaching their hearts for this life and eternity. If we don't maintain a good connection with our children, then they will start seeking the counsel of others that might not have their best interest in mind. If we, as parents reject the path of sinners by keeping a close relationship with Jesus, actively serving Him in practical/intentional ways, then our children will learn how to avoid the path of sinners. This is what we endeavor to be and do at BCCA. We seek to come along parents and help teach and disciple our precious children that they might bear the fruit of Christ's righteousness in their life. May the Lord richly bless our parents and teachers as they seek to train the children in the way they should go, the way to Jesus.
