Hardworking students figuring out multiplication!
Learning about animal survival!
Reading about the Titanic and marking text features.
We have been exploring "Explorers of the New World" and discussing how crude map-making actually was during the 1400's. Students in Mrs. Lewis' Homeroom created maps of EMIS without rulers and without talking to one another. This activity, while silent, helped us to realize that collaboration on maps "back in the day" were dependent upon explorers mistakes while they traveled and then redrawing those maps based on their mistakes. We also learned about navigation tools! To think a "wrong turn" could take you somewhere such as the "New World" is just an amazing thought!
Division using manipulatives!
Applying animal adaptations to help an animal survive in its new environment.
