Anderson Creek Primary School, Kindergarten

What we are Learning!

We will continue reviewing school rules, classroom procedures, emergency drills (fire, tornado, and code red drills), and how students should respond in order to stay safe. We are beginning to introduce workstations in the classroom and how the students will participate in each one. The “big idea” for the first nine weeks of school is “change” and your child will be learning how and why it is important for things to go through the process of change (example: coming to school, the weather/seasons, growing from a baby to an adult) In Math, we will be focusing on numbers, counting, and shapes.

Please begin assisting your child with nightly homework (see the homework tab in your child's binder) and reading at least 20 minutes each night. Don’t forget to record the minutes read on your child’s reading log (located in homework tab of your child's binder).

Please check your child's book bag daily, remove, and keep the papers in the front of the binder. Also, check the homework tab and the pocket of the tab for homework papers and instructions. Wednesday is PE day; please wear tennis shoes.
