Women in Toys Scholarship

GenHERation and Women in Toys, Licensing, and Entertainment (WIT) have partnered together to award a talented young woman a $2,500 scholarship in 2020.

The WIT Scholarship is funded by the WIT Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation that proudly supports its commitment to education by granting scholarships to outstanding women currently pursuing degrees in preparation for careers in a wide array of industry-related fields.

Fidelity Boundless Summit

GenHERation's partner company Fidelity is hosting a Boundless Summit on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 8:45 AM-4 PM in Westlake, Texas right outside of Dallas. Boundless is Fidelity's career discovery program for young women to explore potential careers in finance. During the Summit, you will meet female leaders at Fidelity and learn about the vast array of opportunities in financial services. GenHERation will be giving away 10 tickets for high school students to attend the Summit! 5 GenHERation members who attended the Boundless Summit last year will be Fidelity interns this summer.

#ThinkBeforeYouPost - PSA Contest

The FBI’s It’s Not A Joke #ThinkBeforeYouPost campaign aims at ending hoax threats by educating our community youth regarding the consequences of making hoax threats against schools.

We are inviting high school students, from around the greater Houston area, to create a video PSA encouraging students to refrain from making hoax threats.

YWE 2020 Fall Academic Scholarship Application is now OPEN

Deadline for Scholarship Applications October 20, 2019

Eligible applicants are female, graduating high school seniors from the Greater Houston area with exemplary academic records and demonstrated leadership potential. Eligible applicants must plan to attend an Accredited Four Year University or Accredited Two Year Community College in the Fall after the award is made. Proof of registration must be presented to WEN’s scholarship panel prior to disbursement of awards.

This event can be used as an enrichment activity. Seats are limited, please make sure to get your ticket. This is a student’s event. Priority will be given to students who have registered and secure a ticket for the event. If seats are still available we can offer it to parents who wishes to stay for the event. Please be on time. Give yourself 10-15 minutes before the event start time to check-in.

First United Methodist Church Missouri City is looking for volunteers to assist with their fall

Clean up, October 5th. Areas include: grounds, parking lot, playgrounds, interior dusting and cleaning

Run Houston

October 27th

20 volunteers needed to come out and pass out water and medals to runners at the Houston Striders Half Marathon and 10K finish line from 6:00 am to 11:30 am on Sunday, October 27. Meet at the finish line in Sam Houston Park just west of Bagby on Lamar.

You will be there with the Bel Inizio group so make sure you meet Justena (832-334-1459). (she will be wearing a Bel Inizio shirt) Park at Fonde Recreation Center, 110 Sabine.

High School students are needed to assist the math clubs during afternoon tutorials for competition. Students with strong math skills are encouraged to assist with the club.

Second mile food fair

Every Saturday 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Volunteers help sort and repackage up to 20,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables and distribute up to 200+ families in need that come to second Mile on that day you can sign up for two shifts of two hours or more at Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Parents we want you involved at school! Be sure to complete the FBISD Criminal History Application so that you can volunteer at events and on field trips. Parent support is essential to student success and we LOVE having you at school and involved! If you have not renewed your membership with our Booster Club, you can do so online. Our Booster Club is a key component of our success. It is essential that each of our families join every year!
