TUSD Family Resource Centers
September 2023
Family Resource Center services are available to TUSD students and their families, free of charge. Please call the center to register for classes. Childcare is available to TUSD students and siblings for most classes. Please inform staff of the need for childcare when you register. Include the number of children, ages, and any special needs. Interpreter services are available. Please inform staff of the need for an interpreter when you register. Please register at least two weeks in advance if interpreter services are needed.

In Person Classes & Events
Basic Spanish Skills- Presented by Mrs. Granados (for adults)
Would you like to be able to understand and speak basic Spanish? Then please join our beginner Spanish class to learn practical skills. Come and have fun learning a new language while meeting other TUSD families. Please give us a call at 520-908-3980 to sign up.

Becoming Financially Fit (Orientation)- Presented by Family Housing Resources
This a required orientation for people interested in attending the Becoming Financially Fit class. The Financial Foundations Program is a “FREE TO YOU” program developed for Family Housing Resources Inc. to help you build a solid foundation of financial education, grow your wealth, and achieve financial freedom. It includes an 8-session course that will cover budgeting, taxes, loans, and more. After the course, we will pair you with an expert mentor to help you create a plan to achieve your financial goals. An orientation session is required. This course will be held in person at no cost to you, and all participants that complete the program successfully may be eligible to receive up to $200.00!

Family Mixers- Presented by the Family Resource Centers (all ages)
Join Us for Our Family Mixers! Have fun meeting other TUSD families while learning about the great resources available at the Family Resource Centers. Are you in need of health insurance? Join certified navigators from the University of Arizona Center for Rural Health to answer questions and help you enroll in health insurance. They are available for group presentations and to assist when you experience a qualifying life event or Special Enrollment Period (SEP). Home Energizer Workshop- Tucson Electric Power (for adults)
Learn free and low-cost energy efficiency measures you can implement at home to save energy and money. All workshop participants will receive a free Energy Efficiency Kit worth more than $40 that includes LED light bulbs, a low-flow shower head, an LED nightlight, and more.
