As you can see Nike Distributes to countries all over the world and in very minimal time in a variety of ways.
Nike distribution and manufacturing centers are located in populous regions and those regions are populous because the geography is nice and that is what causes people to live there.

Natural Resources

Nike uses six key materials in the making of their cleats and shoes. The first key material is polyester. 19.2% of the polyester Nike uses is recycled from plastic bottles to help the environment. The rest of the polyester is bought from China or India and shipped to one of the Nike manufacturing plants.

  • he next main material Nike uses is rubber and they have used more and more environmentally preferred rubber. Well over 70% of Nikes shoes now use environmentally preferred rubber. Nike released their environmentally preferred rubber in 2002, this altered rubber is made by incorporating accelerators and vegetable oils, they also modify the processing. Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia are the top producers of rubber around the world.
  • Eva foam is a very environmentally friendly material used in many shoes. The main producers of Eva Foam are located in China. EVA stands for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate. Eva Foam is one of the most efficient and cheap materials that Nike uses in their shoes.
  • The next material nike widely uses is cotton. Nike is proud to say that they are using more and more organic cotton every year. Nike gets most of its cotton from suppliers in China, India, Turkey, and the United state Of America(As we learned in class they prefer not to buy from America because of the expensive labor costs). Nikes plan is to have at least 10% of organic cotton in all of their Products that contains cotton by 2015.
  • Synthetic leather is also used often in nike products. Nike uses synthetic leather in many of their products because it is cheaper then real leather, tends to be more breathable, and easier to clean. Nike uses synthetic leather made in China and Taiwan, the leading supplier of synthetic leather worldwide. Nike uses 1,500 different material vendors, suppliers, and companies. All the companies that they buy from are independent businesses.

Nike is the world top consuming business in the purchasing pf synthetic leather.

Problems that Nike's rapid globalization causes.

My product creates problems in technology because it utilizes carbon fiber to make it lighter but that creates a problem in the production of the shoe because it cannot be but in until the end so the show takes significantly longer to make and deliver

Despite Nikes many efforts to protect the environment they have to produce my cleats. To do this they need factories and even though they are predominately solar powered they still create pollution.

Solution to a problem

I believe that Nike can fix some of their economic problems by getting rid of all 180 of their sweatshops. They have done a decent job so far in attempting to close all of their sweatshops mostly in Asia. But in some cases such as factory's in South America and Africa, all attempts to close the sweatshops have failed. I think that Nike should attempt to set up a national meeting each year and discuss how each each country is affecting the Nike business and close down sweatshops that are not helping company moral and build more civilized labor facilities in areas that already receive the most profits.

Globalization relates to me because I would not have my cleats if it did not exist because there would not be enough advancements to society to get me what I need . The advancements in machinery is very important in the making of this product, such as the making of the synthetic products and how to fit them into a cleat shape. Culture helps with the making of this product also because without the lower class workers in countries such as Indonesia these cleats could not become a reality and without the expectation of greatness and intelligence in China there would be no design for the cleats. Without the advancements in transportation they could not get to me. And perhaps the most important aspect of globalization is me because without the consumer, why have this product or globalization.
