District, first responder partnership with "Elf on the Shelf" a success

This holiday season, SCSD and the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments teamed up to give elementary students a cheerful surprise. An elf was be hidden in the elementary schools and the student who spotted the mischievous elf entered a drawing for a ride in a St. Charles Police or Fire vehicle and have the opportunity to walk in the Christmas Traditions Parade! We were very honored and thankful to be able to offer this fun event with our wonderful police and fire departments.

Congratulations to Blackhurst Elementary's Kristina Durbin on being honored by the Lindenwood College of Education and Human Services earlier this month for serving as an Outstanding Cooperating Teacher! She hosted teacher candidate, Justine Adler in 2021.

Kristina's mentorship during the LindenTeach Internship semester as well as the student teaching semester provided Justine with an unmatched experience. Great to see our staff helping the teachers of tomorrow!

Lewis & Clark students create station at Ranken

Lewis & Clark collision repair students spent a recent Saturday at Ranken creating a “plastic repair station” for the school with material donated by the local charitable arm of the collision repair industry and the 3M corporation. Students welded, sanded, painted and decaled the rolling cabinet fixture. Thanks to Ranken and our local organizations for donating their space and resources to make this project happen!
