4x4 and A/B Model
It’s time for us to gather your input about the 4x4 versus the A/B model. Please complete this short survey to share your opinion.
LIVE Streaming Winter Sports
Following the recent updates from the state concerning athletics and competitions now being allowed, we wanted to share that all Essex High School indoor home competitions this winter will be streamed live and for free. Without fans being allowed inside, we hope this can help families, friends, and community members stay connected with the teams that they like to follow. Favorite or Current Book Selfies
We’re planning to put a photo of a community member with their favorite (or current) book in each newsletter. If you’d like to join this “book share”, please send Arielle (Hornets@ewsd.org) a photo of yourself or your family member with the book cover visible. If you’re camera shy, it’s totally ok to just send a photo of the book cover to Hornets@ewsd.org. We’re excited to get great book recommendations!
Rotary Speech Contest
The Essex Rotary (a local volunteer group) is hosting their annual speech contest via Zoom this year. You can earn some cash and something to add to your college applications...
The prompt is: How can you and your local Rotary Clubs work together to improve your community and open new opportunities for you and other students?
Do you have any thoughts about how you and a local community group could make life better for teens?
The contest would occur in early March. There's a five minute time limit; you do NOT have to memorize it. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Frisbie (kfrisbie@ewsd.org).

Air Force College ROTC: Scholarship Opportunities
Offered at more than 1,100 colleges and universities across the country, Air Force ROTC develops the leaders of tomorrow by preparing college students to become officers in the U.S. Air & Space Force while earning a college degree.
In AFROTC, you’ll not only build lifelong friendships, but you may also have the opportunity to pay for school through our scholarship programs. Most importantly, unlike many other college students, you’ll have a rewarding career waiting for you after graduation.
You can learn more about our program by visiting our website.Do you have an announcement?
