Brinker Academic Triathlon
What is the Academic Triathlon?
The Academic Triathlon is a special program that we are starting for students that participate in 3 academic “events” throughout the school year.
What is an academic “event”?
For the purpose of the Brinker academic triathlon, an academic “event” is any academic, music, or art competition that students participate in during the school year. This would include events such as Fire Safety Poster Contest, Reflections, MLK Writing, Science Fair, Holiday Card Contest or a non-district sponsored event. Because PE has other programs, sports will not be part of the academic triathlon.
How does the triathlon work?
Students are REQUIRED to enter the Science Fair and two other events of their choice. Academic Triathlon forms will be available in the spring. Forms must be returned to Ms. Girlinghouse by May 1, 2017. Students will have to show proof (such as pictures, copies of certificates, etc.) of their participation in the event. Students that complete the Brinker Academic Triathlon will receive a special award at the end of the year!
What do I do now?
Students can begin by finding events! Science Fair information will be going home in the next few days, and then the other two events are your choice! You will need to make sure you collect your proof for each event that you participate in.
