Leon Foucalt was a French physicist in the 1800's. He was born September 18, 1819 and died February 11, 1868. He began studying medicine but shifted towards physics later on. Leon is famous for his invention called pendulum. His invention and scientific findings were significant to science in a major way. His pendulum explained/proved that the Earth is rotating.
The pendulum is a device used for seeing how the revolution of planets around the Sun work. It has the ability to provide accurate time-keeping, be used to measure g-force, and it shows how the Earth spins. The way the pendulum works is by Earth's rotation. No one had to touch it for the weighted ball to start moving. Thus, proving the rotation of Earth exists because how else could the have moved?
