Olympic high jumping is where an athlete must jump over a bar unassisted without knocking it down. High jumping has been in the Olympics since the beginning, and was first introduced as the standing high jump. It was one of the first events that allowed for women to participate in 1928. The world record for highest jump is held by Javier Sotomayor at 8'1/4".
Goal of the Study
We know that men and women perform differently in different sports. But we want to know which is superior in the Olympic High Jump.
As you can see, men have always performed better in high jumping than women, but both groups are getting much better.
