Our kura is looking so amazing with the beautiful mural now installed on the wall. This was designed and painted by our year 6 students, supported by Kate Vavasour and made possible by Kiwican. It is also exciting to see progress happening on the playground with the new turf being installed.
This term, as part of the Kiwican sessions, the Nga Whetū students have been learning about "mahi aroha" and "giving back" to our community and the students chose to base their Kiwi Can Community Project around The Blue Door. The children invited and hosted the volunteers from the Blue Door at a special shared morning tea to say thank you to them because of all of the mahi the volunteers do for the community - and the grants that The Blue Door are able to provide, as a result, for the wider community. This was a very special morning for the students, our Kiwican leaders and especially the volunteers from the Blue Door Team.
Congratulations to the children that competed at the Marlborough District Athletics last week Nikora, Lena, Alyssa and Tāne.
Ka pai Nikora who came 2nd in the 100m Sprints, and Alyssa 2nd in High Jump. With the relay team also winning their race . Ka mau te wehi!
This week all the students are participating in Dance Curriculum in Schools. The students are learning about dance, rhythm, beat and movement and will be sharing their new learning this Friday for whānau, with a dance performance. More information will be coming out soon about this.
Teachers are completing reporting and these will be sent out in week 9 with information about class placements for 2023.
Have a wonderful week!
