Battle of the Books
Elementary School
Middle School
March 13, 2015 is going to be an exciting day as many of our middle school students participate in the annual Battle of the Books competition sponsored by North Carolina School Library Media Coordinators Association. The teams have been chosen and are now reading, studying, and practicing for this exciting event. The students read twenty-seven books and answer the questions by giving the title and the author of the correct book. Cramerton Middle School represented Gaston County very well by winning our county and regional competitions and placing high in the state competition. Information can be found at www.ncslma.org.
Upcoming Literacy Events
Read the Most Coast to Coast Day
During Read the Most Coast to Coast Day (February 27, 2015), students can join their peers across the nation to celebrate their love of reading and immerse themselves in books. Renaissance Place is sponsoring this annual event in which students read and take quizzes on their books. Students and teachers can track advancement on our goal from this website www.renaissance.com/Read-The-Most. What a wonderful opportunity for students to work together with other students all across the county to reach a common goal, which is to beat our goal from last year. We almost reached five million quizzes taken – we want to make it this year! Spread the word!
