Green Team Announcements
September is Hunger Action Month!
According to Northwestern University one in five households in the Chicago Metro area experiences food insecurity, including one in four families with children.
The Beye community is working to address this important issue. Thank you to the Beye students, staff, and adult volunteers for their lunchroom food recovery efforts!
Each day students help collect uneaten, unopened food items that are donated to our own Beye Community Pantry (located in the front of the school) and to other local Community Fridge locations. Congrats to the students for helping to get unused food items to neighbors that need it! Other schools are looking to Beye as a model for how to do the same good work at their schools!
Be on the lookout for future ways to help with the Beye Community Pantry. As a reminder, the pantry is accessible 24/7 and is a resource to all community members.

The first Student Green Team session will be held during the lunch hour this upcoming Wednesday, 10/4 in the Hepzibah Room. We’re looking forward to seeing our returning friends and welcoming new members!
