You are invited to Q Commons!
I want to let you know about an upcoming event next week you do not want to miss! The ACTS Group is hosting its third Q Commons on September 24th at the beautiful Studio 817 . Q Commons is a partnership that brings national thought leaders like Os Guinness and Dr. Caroline Leaf via simulcast together with local presenters in the Sacramento area to deliver 6, 9 and 18 minute talks tailored for us—Christian leaders intent on contributing to the common good of Sacramento. We are honored to have Efrem Smith speak about race, Sosamma Samuel-Burnett speak about biblical justice and Scott Hagan speak about fatherlessness as our local speakers. We will also have short interviews with a representative of Catholic diocese about the Pope's visit to the U.S., as well as one with a restaurant owner about Farm to Fork. Please join us as we learn and consider how to advance good in Sacramento
I hope you will join us! [Register Now by clicking here]

Stories of Service: Back to School Night for Refugee Families
On August 8th the Arab American Learning Center partnered with San Juan Unified School District and volunteers from several area churches to host a Back to School Night for refugee families. Hundreds of Arabic students were invited to attend the event held at Arcade Church. Each student who came received a backpack with school supplies, a new testament, the Jesus Movie DVD. The event had over 350 refugee guests in attendance and 325 backpacks were distributed. A director of San Juan Unified School district also came and brought with her six local principals to join in the festivities.
Thank you San Juan Unified School District, the Arab American Learning Center and each volunteer and church involved to make this night unforgettable and life changing for families in need of support! If you are interested in volunteering with the Arab American Learning Center, please contact Pastor Raed Awabdeh at rawabdeh@msn.com
