Students of the Month
LTMS congratulates our Student of the Month nominees for the month of March. These students are respectful (role models to their peers), responsible (take personal accountability), kind (helpful to others) and courageous (strive to improve well-being of others)!
Teacher of the Month
LTMS congratulates Mr. Wagner, our 8th grade United States history teacher, for being nominated as Teacher of the Month for March. Mr. Wagner was described by his students as respectful, fun and helpful as he really explains the why. He reminds our students, "Your future depends on many things, but mostly on YOU."
Spring Conferences
This year we will continue using an on-line scheduling system, MyConferenceTime, so parents can select which teachers (or team of teachers) they wish to meet. If you are unclear about some of your student’s teachers, please use the Parent Portal https://parentsis.csiu-technology.org/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f to determine which teachers are connected to your son/daughter.
Times available range from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and are available for any parent/guardian on a first-come, first-served basis. The steps to schedule a time with one or more of your student's teachers are fairly simple:
1. Go to this site: https://www.myconferencetime.com/ltsd/folder/644
2. Find the teacher(s) you wish to see by clicking on their names.
3. Find a time that you desire and hopefully is available. Click “Sign up.”
4. Enter the necessary information and be sure to save it by clicking “Sign up for your Conference.”
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 6th! If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our main office at 570-323-9439.

We're Going to... England
Current middle school students are invited to join us on an upcoming educational travel experience to England (rising 8th-11th grade students) in summer 2024!
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Peters at jpeters@loyalsocklancers.org
Sister Act
Jazz Ensemble
The LTMS Jazz Ensemble was selected to perform at the PA State Capitol Building as part of the Music in Our Schools Month concert series. The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and National Association for Music Education selected LTMS Jazz Ensemble to perform on Friday, March 17th at 12:00 PM in the East Wing of the Capitol Building. Representative Flick and Senator Yaw were invited to attend the performance and had a chance to interact with our 58 students in 6th through 8th grade. The afternoon concluded with a tour of the Capitol building.

Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind teams competed at the Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Our middle school team recently competed at the State Tournament on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Lock Haven University.
They have practiced solving spontaneous problems as well as worked hard to design, build, and present their solutions to a long term problem. Congratulations to the following students: Jai Basi, Mohammad Bin-Qasim, Breanna Bower, Abby Shimko and Tala Zaldivar.
LTMS OM Division II: The Most Dramatic Problem Ever!!! Our team created a humorous performance about a dramatic character that overreacts to common events. The performance showcased different theatrical styles as the character overacts. However, in one situation their reaction is justified, but they are ignored. The performance also included something that grows and a costume that represents two characters.
IXL
IXL offers more than 100 reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar language arts skills to our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to explore and learn! Students build a personalized program and skill plan that aligns to their writing course, our state standards, and aligns with PSSA tests.
PBIS
Schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a framework for creating safe and orderly learning environment in school while improving the social-emotional outcomes for students. It is a proactive approach that relies on research-based practices, including developing clear behavioral expectations, teaching these expectations, acknowledging appropriate behavior, consistently correcting inappropriate behavior, and using behavioral data to systematically solve problems.
You can help us by making a donation to our school PBIS store. Your donation ($, small pre-packaged treats or candy, age appropriate toys and gift cards) will go toward our students to support their positive behavior! Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Please label donations "PBIS Student Store".
Thank you for your continued support and contributions!
