Holidays!

Our holiday unit is in full swing. We enjoyed hearing about everyone's holiday traditions. we also had some special visitors this week. On Thursday, we celebrated Hanukkah. Eli's mom read us a story, played dreidel at centers, and gave us all some Hanukkah gelt to take home. At Mrs. McCormick's table, everyone marble painted a dreidel. Today Shubh's mom taught us about Diwali and we made lanterns and colored diyas (lamps) and rangoli designs.

We are helpers!

This week we read about the elves and the shoemaker. We were inspired to be helpers too. We made a list of the ways we can help out at home. We made it into a book and it came home this week with a helping hand on the front. I think the elves were impressed because they left us a treat in the shoes we made! Please read the book with your child and I hope you enjoy a little extra help at home!

Shopping?--WE STILL NEED BAGS!!

We could use some more shopping bags to send home treasures. Large paper bags with handles (like Trader's Joe's) are the best! if you have any that you don't need would you please send them in? Canvas bags are great too. If you have one that we can borrow until June please send it in with your child's name on it. We will use it each time and return it on the last day of school. Thanks!
