OVSD Ed Tech
January 2016
Welcome!
Thank you for checking out the first OVSD Ed Tech newsletter! I hope you find some useful tips and tricks. I will be sending out a newsletter once a month highlighting various Ed Tech resources. If there is a topic or a site you would like to see covered, please let me know!
Going Global with Blogs
Looking to connect your students with a global audience? QuadBlogging enables teachers to partner with three other classes around the world. Each week, one class's blog is highlighted. The other three classes have their students visit and comment. Students learn to clearly communicate their ideas and respectfully consider the perspectives of others. The result is more motivative, thoughtful writers. For more information check out the QuadBlogging website.
Share what you do!
A great way to gain new ideas for your classroom is to collaborate with fellow teachers; however, finding the time to share our best practices can be more difficult. Twitter is a powerful tool for connecting educators without having to set aside a meeting time. Setting up an account is easy and posting a tweet is a breeze. Just remember to #OVSDOxnard! If you find an awesome resource or tried something new in your class, tell us about it! Click here for more information on setting up your twitter account.
