scientific revolution
tania c. 6th period
what was the change
this change was made in the mid 1500s. the scientific revolutio was the chcange of the way people thought science wise.during this time science concepts were developed and changed.scientists came up with new ideas about the world.
who were the people associated with the change ?
copernicus
copernicus was mathematician and scientist.many findings of other scientists are based on his theorys and findings.copernicus theory was that the sun was the center of the solar system.his theory went against the catholic church therefore his book wasnt published till after his death.
newton
Isaac Newton formed his ideas at the end of the Scientific Revolution,he connected the scientists work,he used Copernicus and Kepler's astronomy, and Galileo's physics, he developed the law of universal gravitation. This law said that every body in the universe attracts every other body in a mathematical relationship.
kepler
kepler came up with the the three laws of planetary motion. reated the three laws of planetary motion. he proved the Copernican hypothesis that the planets revolve around the sun in elliptical and not circular, orbits. Kepler mathematically proved his theories, while other thinkers didnt.
galileo
galileo developed the scientific method, where rather than assuming results of an experiment, he could control experiments. in astronomy, he discovered four new moons of Jupiter, and proved the Copernican theory.Galileo was persecuted by the church because he contradicted the geocentric theory.
how does that change evidence in modern society ?
we still use newtons laws, because of this we are able to test and have things we do today. also new technology was invented wich we have made better today but maybe wouldnt have if it werent for the scientiffic revolution,
Galileo's theory
