Positivity Project - Hope/Optimism!
This week our character strength is Hope & Optimism!
Hope and optimism represent a state of hopefulness and confidence about the future (both short and long term). People with this strength are future oriented. They have a positive vision of what the future holds and maintain confidence that they will get there. They keep a positive attitude despite setbacks – and often find ways to convert what seems like an obstacle into a stepping-stone to achieve their goals.
The parent virtue for perseverance is Transcendence. These strengths allow people to rise above their troubles and find meaning in the larger universe. Strengths of transcendence are appreciation of beauty and excellence, connection/purpose, gratitude, hope/optimism, and humor.
Use the quotes and videos below to host discussion with your child.
"Your positive action combined with your positive thinking results in success." ~Shiv Khera
"Hope transforms pessimism and optimism. Hope in invincible" ~Daisaku Ikeda

Part of the data indicated a need to have more face to face opportunities to speak with school administration. Thus, we are going to begin hosting monthly opportunities.
During each meeting we will begin by share information about a relevant topic and then host an open forum dialogue.
We will host our first meeting on January 14th from 9-9:30 a.m in the Media Center. We will discuss how to create a parent account for DreamBox and how to use this to understand your child's academic progress.
We look forward to meeting with you!
