Hispanic Heritage Month
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, today we highlight author:
Pablo Cartaya was initially inspired to write his book The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora after hearing Friday's author - Matt de la Pena - speak. He said hearing Matt sparked something in him because Matt was Latino like he was. It made him want to explore his identity as a Cuban. To read this book and more, come visit the library.
- Our Varsity Football team had a tremendous win on Saturday night at our Homecoming Game, defeating Briarcliff 31-13. Shout outs to the strong play by Evan Bowen, who rushed for 287 yards and scored 4 TD's, Dylan Patsch who played a great game on the defensive side, and Adrian Rodriguez who kicked a 47 yard field goal to help guide the Horsemen to a win! The team will travel to Pleasantville on Friday night for their next game.
- Our Varsity Cheerleaders kept the crowd electric during the Homecoming game, cheering on the Horsemen to a victory. Great job ladies.
- Our Varsity Field Hockey team won 3-0 over Somers yesterday. Goals by Evelyn Nelson and Juliet Loffredo, assisted by Cate Ward and Sydney Weiss. Congrats to Anna Poret, who had 2 saves in her debut as goalkeeper. The team is back in action tonight when they travel to Harrison.
