Behind the Scenes: Google Classroom

What is the Google Classroom Team?
The Google Classroom Team is yet one more piece to the Chrome Squad puzzle. The Google Classroom Team is a major part of how our Royse City High School functions. I’m sure every single student here uses or has used Google Classroom before. Most of you probably already have some knowledge of what Google Classroom is. It’s pretty clearly explained by its name; it’s meant to provide students with a virtual “classroom” online and to allow teachers to post assignments online for kids to keep track of and to turn in. Google Classroom is definitely a huge part of the organizational piece in the student body and staff’s lives.
Meeting the Guys Behind the Google Classroom Team
All of the duties of the Google Classroom Team belong to Caleb Fay and Cade Baridon. Caleb is a junior this year and the Google Classroom Team lead. When he isn’t making updates to the Google Classroom network, you can find him participating in the various extracurricular activities that Royse City High School offers such as Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, GSA, Cross Country, Track, Interact Club, and Debate. Caleb is also a part of the Diocese of Dallas Youth Commission and the Civil Air Patrol. Without a doubt, Caleb is devoted to doing everything he can to help others in need and give back to the community. Cade Baridon, a sophomore, is one of the new members of C4L. When he isn’t playing the role of Caleb’s apprentice as Caleb takes him under his wing, you can find Cade putting his heart on the baseball field or on the football field as he performs on the RCHS Drumline. The Google Classroom Team is one of the more complicated branches of the Chrome Squad, but Cade does an amazing job at learning new material and putting his newly-equipped skills at work to help teachers and fellow students. Together, these two techies make a super team as they unite their capabilities to better the Royse City High School campus as a whole.
Impact of the Google Classroom Team
The Google Classroom Team maintains a huge resource of the RCHS student body and faculty. Google Classroom is the source where a mass percentage of students receive their classwork and homework. The Google Classroom Team most definitely makes teachers’ lives better by allowing them to electronically upload assignments and to grade them online. It also allows students to be more organized by keeping track of their work and by allowing them to turn in assignments online. Overall, Google Classroom is a huge time saver when it comes to both completing classwork/homework and grading them. A massive part of the functionality of our school relies on the Google Classroom Team. All of Caleb and Cade’s hard work and determination truly does add to our Chrome Squad.
