Dear Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers in the OLC Community,
Capital Development
The construction of two new classrooms and senior toilet block will commence shortly. They will be of a similar design to the current Year 6 classes and located above the basketball courts. Develyn builders were the successful tender accepted by CEWA.
A new transportable classroom will be located at the western end of the school between Mr. Jones’ and Mr. Danaher's classrooms later this year.
We have applied for funding to upgrade our junior primary learning spaces to include a new kindy, toilets, and increase the size of the junior primary classrooms. If our application is successful, this will commence in 2023. We will be notified of this in September.
The following stage is to build two more classrooms and restructure the admin area in 2024. This will allow for more multi-purpose space for our students.
The final stage of our CDP is to build two undercover basketball/netball courts and rebound wall. Unfortunately, this will not be until 2025 as there is limited CEWA Capital Funding unless our lotto number comes up.
Our school is in the process of applying for a tax-deductible building fund. The building levy on your school fees goes directly towards the funding of our OLC Capital works
Staff professional Development
Our staff attended professional Development on faith and prayer with Sr Margaret Scharf on Friday 3 June. All staff in Catholic schools are required to participate in 6 hours of RE PD each year.
In week one next term we need parents, grandparents or friends of Year One to help in the canteen. Week two we need Year two parents, week three we need Year 3 families to help etc. In week 7 we need Pre Primary parents to help. Please send an email to the school at admin@ladyofcape.wa.edu.au to let us know which day you will be able to help. It is just sensational to see dads in the canteen as well.
Little Seedlings
Little Seedlings will commence on Wednesdays of Term 3 from 9am-9:45am in the Book Bunker. (School Library).
We welcome all Pre-Kindy aged children to join us with their parents for songs, stories and craft time. Gold coin donation entry.

Winter Carnival
Our Year 5 and 6 students all participated in games of netball, football, soccer and hockey last Thursday in Bunbury. Lots of smiling, happy students and a large sense of satisfaction to those who were brave enough to push themselves out of their comfort zones and try another sport. A big thank you to Mrs Sinclair who coordinated the entire carnival!
CROSS COUNTRY
Results will be published in next newsletter.
Kindy Enrolments
Please place your sibling enrolments into Mrs Marrell in the front office ASAP.
