Gallatin High Update
Week of 11/30-12/4
General Update
Academic Reminders
We appreciate those of you who check Powerschool regularly and check in with your student when they are missing assignments. As we near the end of the semester, it is increasingly important that students are caught up on assignments and make up work. It is important that students are on track by the end of semester in order to ensure they earn credit for each course.
According to the BSD7 Playbook:
Students will need to log into each course and participate daily, though there may not be synchronous activities assigned every day.
Students are expected to complete all assigned activities and assessments for each of their courses. Failure to demonstrate proficiency by completing activities and assessments will impact a student’s grades.
Participation
All students, whether they are attending in person in the blended model, attending remotely or quarantined (and feeling well) are expected to participate fully, five days a week, in all of their courses. Students are expected to complete assignments in all of their courses. If your student is having any trouble connecting with course material or with participating, please contact your teacher, your school counselor, or an administrator to address the issue.
One-to-One Technology
Within the next month, Gallatin High will be moving to a one-to-one Chromebook system. This means that every Gallatin High School student who attends in-person will have a BSD7 chromebook checked out to him/her for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Students will be expected to bring the device with them to school each day to be used in their classes (following district procedures, personal devices will not be allowed to be used in classrooms). Your student will also have the opportunity to take the device home and use it for school purposes.
In order to receive a Chromebook, you must complete this permission form for your student. If you completed a form earlier and you have checked out a Chromebook to use during the Blended Model, you do not need to complete this form again. You already have your device.
We do not have an exact timetable for the one-to-one roll out, but we want to be ready. The first thing that needs to happen is to get the permission form completed and on file so that when we have the Chromebooks and are ready to distribute them, there will not be a delay in your student receiving his/her device.
Don't get lost, check out our new sign for the bus lane!

News from the Bozeman Public Library
Bundle of Books!
We want to get plenty of books to families during this pandemic, so the Children’s staff at the Bozeman Public Library is putting together bundles of books based on your children’s ages and interests. The Library is closed but they are open for curbside pick-up Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturdays 10-2. Instead of placing holds online, we really appreciate you calling the Children’s Desk at 582-2404 when you need any children’s or teen books. We can find you books and make recommendations, put all materials in a bag, and you can swing by for a personalized curbside pickup. Please call us!
