Happy March All-

Wow! It's been a cold and rainy few weeks, but we all know we need it. I am definitely looking forward to some spring weather. Hopefully it's here just in time for our Spring Break Vacation! I can't wait to get out in my kayak on the river.

Just a few things to share:

Parent Showcase: Thank you to all those who attended our "Open House" style Parent Showcase! We had a great turn out considering it was one of the coldest nights of the season. It was great having families on campus and showing off all the great things happening everyday! We appreciate the time you took to share just a glimpse into your child's daily life when they are with us!

Spring Break: Don't forget that our Spring Break is coming up. We will be out of school from March 20-24. Please have fun and stay safe!

Emergency Day Reinstated: Just a reminder that due to needing to cancel school on January 5th, we will be reinstating one of our emergency days on the calendar. School WILL be in session on April 7th. This is also the date of our last whole school dance. In order to attend after school events, students must be in attendance during the school day.

SBAC Testing: We will be testing on various days between April 24th and May 23rd. A more concrete schedule will be shared next month. In the meantime, please do not plan family trips during this time frame. We realize emergencies happen, but if it can be avoided we appreciate it.

Just a reminder, please stay connected for up to date information. Find us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, amd TikTok) for updates regularly. Also, feel free to browse our website for more detailed information. As always, please call the office anytime with questions or concerns. We're here for you and want to help!

Sincerely,

Shawna Whitestine

Semester Award Winners

Our panthers are always working hard and we are proud of all of them! The kids listed in the pictures below went above and beyond. These names are those who earned a spot on our purple and gold honor roll along with our students earning a Semester Panther Pride Award. Semester Panther Pride students were nominated by one of their teachers for demonstrating effort and citizenship.

* Semester Panther Pride: This is for students nominated for amazing positive effort and citizenship.

* Purple Honor Roll: This is for students earning a 3.0 - 3.49 GPA.

Book Fair Success and Gratitude

Dear Parents and Families,

I’m sending my sincere gratitude for making our Book Fair an outstanding

success!

Thanks to your contributions, we were able to purchase more books with our

scholastic dollars for the Twin Hills Library.

Our in-person book fair has closed, and we appreciate the students and parents

who shopped and supported our book fair.

We had a wish list drawing sponsored by our student council. Congrats to 8th graders Will and Capri for being the lucky recipients of new books! Happy Reading!

I hope to see you and your child at our next Fair. Until then, happy reading!

Gratefully,

Lisa Galea

Counselor Corner: SOS Training for 7th Graders

I will be doing Suicide Prevention Training with the 7th graders later this month. We use the SOS (Signs of Suicide) Program. SOS is an evidence based program that focuses on the acronym ACT, Acknowledge, Care and Tell. As we see a rise in depression among youth, this training serves as one way we can help to support ourselves and one another when difficult times arise. Here is a link with more information: https://sossignsofsuicide.org/parent.

All 7th grade families will be receiving an email with additional information and you are welcome to reach out to me with questions. jhales@twinhillsusd.org
