Message from the Principals
Hello Franklin Junior High families,
Happy New Year! We hope you all had a restful, wonderful break.
We have wrapped up our first semester and now excitedly approach the second half of the school year. This year has been filled with the great accomplishments of our students. Here are a few highlights:
- Our 7th/8th girls badminton team recently won the city championship under the veteran coaching of Mr. Malo. (pictured below)
- Our 7th/8th baseball team, coached by Mr. Meek, had an amazing, undefeated, regular season and made it to the district semi-final game.
- Esther Griner, 8th grader, won the school spelling bee and advances to the district competition later this month. Good luck, Esther! (pictured above: Esther Griner, Mrs. Turley, Mrs. Moya)
- Our band, choir, and orchestra performing arts programs are growing and thriving. Read more below about a special accomplishment some band members achieved in December.
Our students will have many opportunities to shine academically, athletically, and artistically throughout this next semester.
This season's sports tryouts begin later this week. If your student is interested in playing girls volleyball, flag football or running cross country, please fill out this form by Wednesday.
Happy New Year,
Mrs. Moya and Mr. Abrams
