Arriving On Time Insures a Smooth Start for Students

Thank you for insuring your child is at school on time each day. Arriving on time allows your student to have a smooth start to their day. Students are welcome to arrive as early as 7:15 a.m. (not before) each morning and can go to the cafeteria for supervision until the first bell rings at 7:30 a.m. The late bell rings at 7:40 a.m. Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. are considered late. After students are late five times, students will need to come in early to make-up seat time. Parents will receive a letter from Mrs. McEnery alerting them to this situation and will need to be at school at 7:20 a.m. on the designated day. Documentation of students being late will begin on Monday, September 11.

Headsets

iPads have arrived! Please send in a set of headphones for your child to keep at school. They will need them when we are using iPads and we will start using them soon. Make sure the headsets are sized to fit a child's head and, if possible, do not have a volume controller on the cord. When headsets have had to be replaced in the past, it's mostly due to children knotting, chewing on, or twirling the cord. The wires break easily inside their plastic casings. Please discuss this with your child and remind them you are counting on them to work responsibly with their headsets. These are needed as soon as possible. Thank you!

Laps for Learning

Get Ready for Laps for Learning on Friday, September 29th! This is our school's largest fundraiser, and we need volunteers to help us achieve a successful event! Students will be collecting donations and turning them in each day leading up to September 29th. At the event, students will run laps to raise money for our school. It is a tremendous event promoting health and fitness as well as supporting BES!

If you cannot volunteer, you are still welcome to watch and cheer on the runners! It's a very fun day for our students. Please support this event in any way you can!

Remember your library book!

Students visit to the school library once a week at their scheduled time. Students get to check out a new book every time their library book is brought back. If a book is left at home on your child's library day, he/she will keep it until the following week. Please help your child get into the habit of mind with remembering to bring back their library book. Students really enjoy selecting a good book to read and share with you at home.

Mrs. Hendry's class and Mrs. Romo's class go to the library on Tuesdays.

Ms. Allenbaugh's class and Mrs. Ryan's class go to the library on Wednesdays.

"Happy Birthday"

You can say "Happy BIrthday" to your child in a new way! You can have your child's birthday message placed on the digital sign from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on their big day. Complete the blue form sent home in your child's folder and send it to the office with $10 cash, at least one week before their birthday.
