Hawks Happenings

November 1, 2018

Happy November!

It is hard to believe that November is here! We have now been in school for 47 days and we are 1/4 of the way through with this school year. If you haven't had the opportunity to come in for a parent-teacher conference, then I suggest you connect with your child's teacher.

Please remember:

  • if you come to the gym door in the afternoon to pick up your child, you are considered a 'walker' and you should be physically walking home or off our campus. We only have a few families who live nearby who take advantage of this and having more people at the door creates congestion and confusion. Please make sure to follow this procedure.
  • to write a note or stop by the main office to make a change with your child's transportation.
  • to double check with your child's teacher about what you put down for your child's transportation plan in case we had an Early Dismissal due to inclement weather. Remember that we can't call home to check every child's transportation on a release day so please be proactive and check now!
  • that students must be in their classrooms at 7:55 AM in order to avoid a tardy slip. Please strive to arrive on time!

Dancing Drum is coming to Weaverville Elementary!

We are excited to use PTO funds to provide a fun and engaging experience for our students! Dancing Drum performers are coming on November 14!

The Dancing Drum Interactive Performance (IP) programs are high-energy assemblies that engage, entertain, and inspire! Students will play and sing along with clapping, body percussion and vocal chants. Next, groups of student volunteers will have the opportunity to play 80 drums and percussion instruments throughout the show.

Thank you to Ms. Cindy Roop for organizing this event and thank you to PTO for making this event possible for our school! To learn more you can visit the Dancing Drum website at https://dancingdrum.com/pages/school-drum-day.

Please share the information below with anyone who has a Kindergarten student enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year!
