Tomorrow is the big day! We are so excited to begin the journey of learning for 2020-2021. We hope you are excited for the first day of school. Don't forget to email Mrs. Rivera your first day of school photos so she can put them on our Facebook page. As we are putting together some final details we wanted to share some important information with our families.

MEET THE SOCIAL WORK TEAM
We just wanted to say hi and welcome to the new school year. We are so excited to start off the new year and can't wait to see all our students! We understand that we are living in unprecedented times and we are here to support you and your kid(s) as we navigate this new "normal" together. This year, we are fortunate to have two new social workers join the FCW SW team. Please welcome Mr. Nesse and Ms. Ellis to the Whiteley family!
Here is our video: Meet the FCW Social Work Team!
Also another important site that we will be managing throughout the year is our FCW Social Work team site. Within the website there will be various resources pertaining to SEL, parent tips and parent resources.

We look forward to connecting with all of you!

ALGEBRA STUDENTS
Our students that are taking algebra this year, will be instructed through a teacher at Plum Grove Junior High. They will be reaching out to those families to provide information about this class. They will begin their Algebra class on Monday, August 24th.
CHROMEBOOKS
We are excited that our students are one to one this year. Technology is a wonderful tool but we do know that sometimes there are issues. If your child has an issue with their Chromebook, please reach out to their classroom teacher of the building administration. We will work with our tech department to fix the issue. If needed we will work on providing a loaner while the device is being fixed.
MEET THE TEACHER & CURRICULUM NIGHT
This year we will continue to host Meet the Teacher and Curriculum Night. These events will both be held virtually. Meet the Teacher will take place on Friday, August the 14th at 1:30. Teachers will connect with families via video. They will take time to do a quick introduction, share first week expectations, what virtual platform they will be using for virtual learning, and share some other information. Our Curriculum Night/Parent Orientation will take place on August 26th. Families with children in grades 4th-6th will have their virtual Curriculum Night from 6:00-6:30. Families with children I grades K-3rd will have their virtual Curriculum Night from 6:45-7:15. During this time teachers will share specifics about the curriculum, learning objectives and expectations, procedures and routines
FACEBOOK
We will continue to share pictures and videos with parents though Facebook. In fact, I am sure many of you will be taking Back to School pictures of your children. You can send those pictures to Mrs. Rivera and we will post them on our school Facebook page.
