Library News!
The last library class for non-rotation classes is May 21st. All student materials are due by this date. 5th grade will continue to come to the library since they are in rotation.
We are having an IN PERSON Book Fair!
This fair is for students only. Unfortunately, no parents will be allowed to attend. Students who have money for the fair will be able to attend during their specials time. This will allow me to control the number of students in the library and have students social distant at the fair.
myON is a Great Reading Resource!
MyOn is a FREE resource available to all GISD students that gives them access to THOUSANDS of ebooks! They can use tablets, laptops, computers, or other devices to access myOn. No reliable wifi? Never fear! MyOn can even be accessed once you go offline!
Students access it through GISD Ready Hub.
This resource is also accessible through community libraries for non-GISD students! Find out how here.
All myON accounts should be up and running. If you cannot login, please let me know. Your login will be the first part of your e-mail before the @, and your password is Password1!

Our library catalog, Destiny, is available on every district computer. On your desktop, you will find a little green book with a red ribbon. This is the district Destiny catalog and also the access to many online resources Brittanica Online, Tumblebooks, National Geographic Kids, and PebbleGo. Curbside Service
Student Withdraws
If you happen to have a Face to Face student who withdraws, please check their desk or skill box for their library books. You can return them to the library when your class comes the next time or you can place them in my mailbox. Thanks!!!
New Library Procedures for Spring!
1. All Grades: Students need to bring their books with them to the library. Please do not collect books and send them early. Students will hold books so they can be scanned in.
2. Pre-K – First Grade: Your students only need to bring their library books with them.
3. Second Grade: Please send chrome books or ipads with students each time they come to the library. I will take care of supplies for them.
4. Third through Fifth Grades: Please send chrome books with students each time they come to the library. Your students will also need to bring a small bag of supplies – crayons, scissors, and glue – each time they come to the library.
5. Free Check Out time will be Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 – 10:30. Please send only 3 students at a time. Students may have to wait in the hallway to allow for social distancing. Do not send students on other days or times as there will be classes in the library.
6. If your students or class miss library, please send them in groups of 3 during free check out time (see #5) to check out books. Due to the full schedule, library classes will not be made up or rescheduled.
Remember, if you need books for curriculum or books just to read for you or students to read for fun in your classroom, please let me know! I will pull and check the books out to you and either put them in your box or deliver them to your classroom.
Please let remote students know that we are still providing curbside service!
Please let me know if you have any questions!
