FAMILY SUPPORTS
CCA SPONSOR A FAMILY
Clear Creek Amana High School's Student Council helps families in need throughout the school year. One of the ways in which this happens is through our annual Sponsor a Family Event. Last year, donations from our CCA Community made it possible to serve 43 families during the holiday season.
Deadline December 9, 2023
CCA FAMILY ASSISTANCE
If you are in need of gift support over the holiday season for your child or family, we will do our best to help. Although there are no guarantees for assistance, we hope to be able to assist all CCA families in need but want to address that there might not be the same assistance opportunities as in previous years. We appreciate your support and hope you understand the uncertain times.

November is National Family Caregivers Month
Being a caregiver can mean different things to different people. A caregiver can be a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, partner, or friend. Caregiving can significantly impact one’s life, especially when caring for someone with a mental illness. To all of the caregivers in our district and communities, we see you and we appreciate all you do. While you do so much for others, here is a gentle reminder to take care of yourself, too.
Mental Health America has resources specifically for caregivers. You can find mental health resources at MHANational.org/caregivers.
Gratitude
As we move towards the Thanksgiving break, we want to encourage everyone to think about the idea of gratitude and consider ways to add some gratitude practices into our own and our children’s lives. Studies show that gratitude is linked with increased social support and can offer protection from stress or depression.
Some gratitude exercises include:
Gratitude journal. You can spend a few minutes writing down good things about your day
Give Thanks. Make a conscious effort to to notice when others are doing kind things and recognize this with a sincere “thank you”
Mindfulness walk. You can take a walk while noticing and appreciating your surroundings. Examples may be to notice your 5 senses or look for the colors of the rainbow.
Gratitude letter. You can choose whether you want to share the letter.
Grateful contemplation. Take a break from distractions (5-10 min) and mentally review the good things from your day.
Gratitude conversation. Talk and share things you are grateful for with another person.
