Library Media Center

Last month Mrs. Hughes engaged the KNE students in the Children's Literature Virtual Festival through UCM. Our students have enjoyed meeting many different authors and discussing all the different books each author has written.

We send out a special congratulations to the following students who read and passed an AR test on at least four of this year's Mark Twain nominees.

Levi Knaus, Adelaide Sturgill, Gracelyn Rosine, Lyndi Goodrich, and Asya Coffland.

A huge shout out goes to Tessa Bohl, the newest inductee into the Mark Twain Wall of Fame. Tessa read and tested over ALL 12 of the Mark Twain nominees! Congratulations!

Counselor's Corner

In March we focused on teaching our students about the zones of regulation. We want our students to understand that everyone gets upset and dysregulated at times, but they don't have to stay that way. We teach our kids how to regulate themselves through exercise, mindfulness training and breathing activities. If you want to know more about the zones of regulation please visit the following link:

This month in counseling we will focus on service learning opportunities and test taking anxiety. We will also discuss test taking tips to relieve as much anxiety as possible.

Notes From Nurse Crystal

Last week we had several students return from recess requesting a change of clothes because their pants got wet from playing on the equipment or in the grass. This time of year we have a lot of rain and our outdoor area and equipment are oftentimes damp. It is a good idea to pack an extra change of clothes in your child's back pack in case of emergencies.

It is also a good idea for our students to stay hydrated throughout the day. We have several water bottle filling stations in our building. As friendly reminder we want you to be sure have your student/s pack a water bottle each day.
