Message from Dr. Marchesso

This week we return to our normal Tuesday - Friday school times of 7:50 am - 2:15 pm.

BRAVO assemblies begin this week. Our BRAVO themes for this year are: Kindness, Fairness, Optimism, Considerate, Generosity and Responsible. Each week there will be presentations from different grade levels on each of these themes. BRAVO stands for:

B - Build Integrity with positive behaviors and habits

R - Review rules and reinforcing skills

A - Award students for implementing great choices

V - Vary strategies to meet individual needs

O – Offer support as needed

On Monday, join me at 8:00 am for Coffee with the principal in the Pergola. We will also have a virtual volunteer orientation on Monday at 1:15. Click here to join.

If you signed your child up for Parker-Anderson classes, please note that there is a delay in the start date. Hopefully, you have received communication from them regarding the new start dates.

There will be no school on Friday, September 23rd. This is a Professional Development day for teachers.

And a reminder that ALL visitors must wear a mask while inside the school buildings.

Congratulations to our students!

Congratulations to Sophia Spears, Amanda Spears and Hailey Geyer for their success in the Pasadena Public Libraries Off the Beaten Path Artwork competition! In the 6-8 year old category, Amands was the 1st place winner, Hailey was the 2nd place winner and Sophia received an Honorable Mention. Their artwork is showcased at the Hastings Ranch Branch until October 31st.

Way to exemplify our SME value of being Creative!

If you value diversity, equity, and inclusion and want to get involved with the planning of diverse monthly celebrations please join a SEED meeting and catch our monthly resource guides in the Wednesday folder and Sunday Smore. Annual Fund Boosters (AFB)

Thank you to the 11% of families who have donated to AFB!

Our "All In For Fall" campaign is underway, and we need 100% family participation to ensure we have the staff and programs we need.

To make the $220,000 goal needed for the next school year, AFB needs $400/student (or $40/month per student). Please donate at https://bit.ly/2LzqUOL at a level that is meaningful to your family!
