Hands-On How To Workshop during PTCs
Afternoon Pick Up Concerns
On Thursday, Ms. René sent out an email to all parents regarding this matter and posted it on Facebook. If you missed it, here it is:
There was a dangerous hoax at Capstone yesterday where someone reported that there was an active shooter and the school went into lockdown. There was no shooter.
Our school did not go into lockdown on Wednesday because there was no threat to MMA. North Ogden police sent officers to all of the schools in N. Ogden just to check on everyone. The officers that walked through MMA yesterday did not recommend any action on our part as there was no threat to our safety.
If you are like me and do not watch the news, the media coverage is here.
Student of the Month
Each month a junior high student is chosen by their teachers who show signs of leadership and good academics at our school. Ms. Andrea interviews each student to be featured in the North Ogden Connections Magazine. This month our student is...Isaac Venzor.
Isaac Venzor is a leader at Maria Montessori Academy, serving on both Student Council and HOPE Squad. Outside of school, Isaac enjoys playing and watching soccer, creating art, and reading. His favorite team is Barcelona FC. In school, his favorite class is Geography, because he “likes learning about other cultures because sometimes we are too self-centered, and I feel like we should get a different point of view.” He wants to graduate college and learn Portuguese and possibly study architecture. His motto is “be open to failure”, because “ a lot of people mess up and are too scared to try again, I try to look at failure as an opportunity to learn what I did wrong and what I did right.” Isaac says, “I believe this generation is special because we have power to take action and change the things that are bringing this planet down. It’s important for all of us to use our voices, because every voice can have an impact or a revolutionary idea. Everyone should have a voice in this world. As leaders, we have to rise by lifting others."

Help Needed for Jr High Play
This December our Junior High is putting on a Madrigal Dinner Theatre. We are in need of parents who are willing to help with sewing costumes. Our play is medieval themed, therefore we’ll use medieval patterns. We’re also happy to accept medieval style clothing donations. Any time spent sewing can be used as parent volunteers hours.
Contact Ms. Sarah if you are able to help or have any questions at - firstname.lastname@example.org
