4th Grade News

October 10th-14th

What's Happening

the 4th graders had a great week! We really enjoyed the apple crunch on Thursday. The apples were delicious! Thanks to those parents who came and helped celebrate our SPARC activities!

In math this week we practiced finding factors, multiples, and perimeter. We took the unit 2 math test today.

In reading this week, we read a whole class story called The Secret Message. In small groups students read The Cockroach and the Mouse, The Badger and the Fan or The Wings of the Butterfly. In all of these texts, we took time to identify the theme or message in the story.

In science this week we talked about the different systems in the human body, specifically the circulatory system and the respiratory system. Students enjoyed making a model of the heart and measuring their vital lung capacity.

Conferences start next Thursday, October 20th and continue Tuesday, October 25th. I will be sending an email reminder as well as a paper reminder home next week.
