Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you for making a difference for all children!
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we will NOT have a staff meeting today. Please enjoy this beautiful day and take time for you. We have a very busy week so please refer to your email often for updates.
Congratulations to Jason Childress, Juley Sexton, and Kate Garrison who will receive their Masters in School Administration this weekend. Jason from UNC-CH and Juley and Kate from Gardner-Webb.
Please pay careful attention to the calendar during the last few weeks of school. There have been some recent changes regarding end of the year events. Examples include:
- Leadership Symposium - June 2
- Field Day (K-2) - June 3
- Field Day (3-5) - June 4
We will be hosting a group of 60 administrators and teachers on Thursday for our blended learning showcase. They will be visiting a small number of classrooms (teachers have already been contacted if their classroom is involved). We will send out a schedule and list of students participating by Tuesday.
Happy Mothers’ Day this week to all our mothers and to our mothers to be! In celebration of our Mothers, we will host our annual Muffins for Moms – this year, with a Kentucky Derby twist. We ask that you sport your favorite “derby like hat” for the 2-day event. Get creative and let your students help you make and decorate your hat.
Our 5th grade team planned a trip of a lifetime for our students and their families. Thank you so much for spending 3 days with our students in Washington, DC.
I would like to thank Kelly Wilson, Kendra, Jason, Kate, Angie, Carole, Ashley, Emily and Rick for attending the Job Fair on Saturday. We so appreciate your commitment in helping us find the best and brightest teachers for our school.
Please take time to spruce up your classrooms and hallway displays for Kindergarten Open House on Wednesday and our Ten Marks Showcase on Thursday.
We would like for you to assign a leader in gardening to water and take care of all our beautiful plants. Please take care of your window boxes, patio plants or any plants that you think should be watered. We appreciate your help.
It has been reported that we have several people living in our school attendance area that have a past criminal record related to kidnapping, child abuse or child abduction. Please know where your students are at all times and “beef up” security on the playground.
I will be here everyday this week—YEAH--- except for Monday. Please let me know if you need anything or if I can be of any assistance.
Our sympathy is extended to Angie Headley and Kalan Hoskins in the passing of their grandmothers.
