Torrey Hill Intermediate School
March 2021
March Madness? AND Student Awards :)
Dear Torrey Hill Intermediate School Families,
Well, some of you may have heard about March Madness before. This year, we are pleased to report that unlike last year, our "madness" is coming in the form of "March is Reading Month" activities and our "Commit to Fit" challenge! Whew, although this is going to be a very busy month, I personally welcome this as compared to last year. Within this newsletter you will find flyers and articles related to both topics. We look forward to excellent participation from our students.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to personally congratulate the four students who were honored for outstanding character during the February and March Board of Education meetings. We are incredibly proud of you. Thank you for attending the BOE virtual meetings to receive your special certificate and honor!
Nicklas Hamel (Mrs. Kelli Larson's 4th grade class)
Evan Prybys (Mr. Dixon's 5th grade class)
Stella Rainney (Mrs. Yeaster's 3rd grade class)
Cienna Wilcox (Miss Ribick's 3rd grade class)
Yours in Learning,
Mrs. K. Conover

Torrey Hill took first place in the last challenge and purchased a portable gaga ball pit! Students can add practices, games, recess, playing in the snow, or any physical activity. Students will log their weekly activity EVERY FRIDAY using this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ASC2021. Please contact jpattison@lakefentonschools.org if you have any questions.

A NOTE FROM THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Prior to this month January 2021, we were doing routes East and West of US23 but found that most days we were traveling to the other areas to provide the students with the opportunity to come to school.
With the increase in students attending school more than one day from all areas face to face we have transitioned back to routes that we were running pre-covid. This will eliminate a driver having to cross over to the opposite area on different days. The times will hopefully become more consistent day to day with the reduced miles that need to be covered. Please be patient as we learn who will be riding, and who will not.
The routes have been updated on the Lake Fenton Website, please refer to them for the symbol, driver, and approximate time. Please understand the times will become regular as the semester continues. We are doing everything in our power to make sure your student's ride is safe. For this reason sanitizer must be used just prior to boarding the bus, masks must be worn over their nose and mouth, and we ask that they stay in their assigned seat to reduce the number of possible outcomes of transmission.
Please check the website prior to calling the transportation office. If you still have questions feel free to reach out. 810.591.2552. Thank you and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Laura O’Lewin
