Blue and Gold Dinner

Our annual Blue and Gold Dinner last month was a well attended and fun event. The scouts received many achievements and electives they had worked hard to earn, and they also presented some creative skits. The Webelos 2 scouts received amazing individualized Arrow of Light awards handmade by Cubmaster and Den Leader Steve McDowell in a cool ceremony. Very soon these scouts will join the Troop as Boy Scouts. They have learned and accomplished a lot in their years as cub scouts.

Thank you to all of the parents, especially Kathy Spychalski, Steve McDowell and the Webelos 2 den families, who made this a memorable and fun event for all families.

March 15 from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in IHM's Lower Hall

This is your scout's chance to use his imagination and woodworking skills to create a cool car from a block of wood. He should be able to do most of the work himself with adult supervision when using tools. Kits are available at the Scout Shop for $3.99. See http://bsapack33.wikispaces.com/Pinewood+Derby for rules and details. This event is organized by the Bear Den, and Webelos 2 Scouts and Boy Scouts will assist. Parent volunteers are needed as well. There are lots of online materials and library books to help with design ideas.
