Lost & Found

Remind your child to stop by the lost and found to see if any of the items are his/hers before Fall Break. All remaining items will be donated to a local charity after school dismisses after Friday, October 11th.

6th Grade Boys Basketball Try-outs

6th Grade Boys Basketball Try-outs will be held October 22nd, October 23rd, & October 24th from 3:00-5:00pm. Please pick your child up at Door 2. Basketball permission slips are due to the office by October 21st, 2019 at the conclusion of the school day (no exceptions). Click here to download the basketball permission slip. Parent Teacher Conferences

Look for information to come home from your child's teachers about our annual Parent-Teacher Conferences this fall. Conferences may be offered by teachers at different times/dates throughout October. However, our two school-wide evenings for conferences will be on Tuesday, October 8th and Wednesday, October 9th.

Fall Book Fair

The FC Fall Book Fair is this week, October 7th through 11th. The Book Fair will be in the library. Students will visit the Book Fair, with their teacher, during one of their Humanities blocks. The Book Fair will also be open one evening during parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 8th from 3:00-7:00pm, if parents want to shop.



Volunteers are needed to run the cash registers. The Book Fair will be open from 7:45am-2:45pm each day. If you are able to help at the Book Fair, please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/xKDEQWK.



You MUST have a current background check on file with HSE Schools to volunteer at the Book Fair. Volunteers will receive a 20% discount on all Book Fair purchases. Thank you for helping out!

Pasta Bowl Results Are In.....

Fall Creek Intermediate was named the 2019 Intermediate/Junior High Pasta Bowl Champions! We collected 3,176 pounds of pasta! Thank you to all of our wonderful FCI families for participating and supporting a great cause! Way to go Falcons!

The winning schools gathered at Meijer to celebrate a Pasta Bowl donation record for HSE Schools with volunteers collection more than 40,000 pounds of pasta! Our school along with other winning schools will be recognized at the next school board meeting on October 9th, 2019.

Attention Parents of 5th Grade Students:

Indiana law requires that all 5th grade students receive a vision screen performed for near and distance vision. FCI will be screening students on Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th. Please be sure that your student wears their glasses or contacts, if applicable. Should your child fail the vision screen, he/she will bring a letter home with the result sometime prior to fall break.

Body Safety Education

Think First and Stay Safe and Teen Lures are comprehensive body safety education programs that teach children in grades K-12 ways to keep their bodies safe. The children will learn appropriate ways to prevent, respond to, and report situations such as bullying, cyber-bullying, and all forms of abuse or neglect.


The program will be presented to children at FCI during the week of October 7th. Each presentation will be given in classrooms and will last approximately 45 minutes. Although not required, each child's attendance in the program is strongly recommended. Should you decide to not have your child participate in the presentation, an opt-out form must be completed and submitted to the FCI office by Wednesday, October 2nd. Art Club

Art Club will meet on Tuesday after school from 3:00-4:00pm starting October 22nd. Art Club fees are $10 to cover the cost of supplies. October 4th was the deadline to pay your book fees in full. At any time the treasurers will be instructed by the HSE Admin. office to add the $8.35 processing fee for all unpaid accounts. At that time, all accounts with a balance will be pulled and sent to Transworld. To avoid this additional fee, please pay your book fees in full as soon as possible.

Students at FCI have the opportunity to participate in small group counseling. Group counseling is an excellent way for students to learn new skills, build relationships with others, and set personal growth goals. Social Emotional Learning:

At FCI all of our students participate in Social Emotional Learning (SEL). These lessons occur once a week and are taught by your child's classroom teacher. Box Tops

Helping fund FCI activities is as easy as clipping BoxTops or scanning your grocery receipts into the BoxTops App! Every BoxTop collected and /or scanned brings 10¢ to our school. BoxTops are found on many brands and items around your house.

If you have physical BoxTops, just clip them out, put them in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name and homeroom teacher and send them to school. Remember these expire so don’t wait to send them in.

Spirit Wear Update

FCI's falcon mascot is being updated. Fall Creek Intermediate and Fall Creek Junior High will share the same falcon mascot (they currently have two different looking falcons). The re-design process is in the works and we've been told that the new falcon should be ready in late October. We are planning to wait for the new falcon before offering spirit wear. Since the falcons are now the same at FCI and FCJH, we will look to print some items that simply say "Fall Creek Falcons" with the new falcon logo that can be worn in either building. Yay for an extended life to spirit wear! Be on the lookout for spirit wear information to come home sometime in late October or early November.

Please note the revised intermediate school hours throughout the district:


  • Breakfast – 7:20am (Bus students will be dismissed for breakfast at 7:25am or upon arrival if after 7:25am.)
  • Arrival bell – 7:35am (Students dismissed from buses and car drop-off line.)
  • School begins – 7:45am (Students will be tardy after 7:45am. Parents must sign-in their child in the office after 7:45am arrival.)
  • Dismissal – 2:33pm on Mondays (Early Release Days); 2:53pm Tuesday-Friday

Important Safety Item Reminders

  • Buzzer protocol - When you ring the buzzer for entry, remember that the office staff will ask you your name, intent, child's name/homeroom to ensure those that enter FCI should enter.
  • Photo ID - Whether picking up or dropping off, please have photo ID such as your driver's license ready for identification purposes.
  • Door 1 entry - All visitors must enter via door 1 regardless of time of day. Please do not come in the cafeteria door with students before school.
  • Bus lot - Do not enter the bus lot prior to bus arrival or while buses are in the lot.
  • Drop-off - Please make all attempts possible to have your child exit your vehicle on the side of the curb. Exit the opposite side and walking in between cars is not safe.

Safe Visitor Badges

Per HSE Policy, visitors must have their Safe Visitor Badge scanned to check-in to the building. Please download the SafeVisitor App (available for iPhones and in Google Play for all other phones) or have your badge available when you come into the school. Looking up names can lead to the wrong person being signed in.


Upon leaving, please give your printed badge to the office staff for quick check-out.

Mental Health Issues are common and treatable. Hamilton Southeastern Schools has a contract with Community Health Network and has a mental health therapist working with students in each of our schools.
