Cordelia Hills Update

10/29/2018

Message from the Principal

Thank you to ALL our wonderful parent volunteers, PTA members, and especially to Mr. and Mrs. Chun-Remick for a fantastic Trunk or Treat. We collected over 1400 lbs in donations and the playground was packed with Trunks. Great work.

Conference week is coming up next week starting Friday, November 9th. This is an opportunity to sit down with your child's teacher and to review the report card and to discuss progress, strengths, and any areas of growth. Each conference day (see calendar below) is a minimum day (all Tk/K are on AM schedule and all other students get out at 11:50).

A reminder to all parents: The parking area near the baseball field and upper gate is for DAYCARE vans and buses only. All licensed daycare operators must get school approval before using the space. We appreciate your help in keeping this area free from other cars.

School Climate Committee Updates

Stand Up to Bullying Wednesdays Wear Blue on Wednesdays to show your support for bullying awareness and prevention. Obviously, this Wednesday is Halloween and so many will be in costume. But let's make this a Wednesday tradition.

DADS, WE NEED YOU! Thank you to the many dads who reached out last week to express interest in joining or hearing more about "Watch Dogs". We are aiming for a first meeting after returning from Thanksgiving Break. We are going to attempt to drum up support during Conference Week. If you are interested and haven't already contacted me, please email me at stevetr@fsusd.org or reach out. For more information on watch dogs, please see this link: http://dadsofgreatstudents.com/program-info

Buddy Bench: We are working on a Buddy Bench for our play yard. The Buddy Bench is a bench that can serve as a central place to foster friendship and promote kindness and inclusion. Look for the bench in the future!
