Registration Opening on January 26th

The initial Lake Travis ISD Winter Professional Development Conference is coming in February! Faculty and staff will be able to register for the conference very soon. Take a look at some of what's coming, we know it will be a great opportunity for us to gather as a district to learn from each other and from some amazing educators from around the United States.

Keynote Speaker - Todd Nesloney

Todd loves technology and finding new and exciting ways to bring technology into the classroom and children's education. He's so passionate about this that he and a colleague of his (Stacey Huffine) have started a technology training company called "The 3 Tech Ninjas". In 2013 Todd was selected as a White House Champion of Change, Center for Digital Education's "Top Innovators in Education", and a "20 to Watch" by the National School Board Association. He also work with Remind101, Sophia,Classroom Champions and several other organizations. Todd has also recently authored two books!

Todd is currently the Principal at Navasota Intermediate, in Navasota, Texas. He regularly blogs for his own blog as well as several well known entities. Todd travels the country speaking and keynoting at different conferences and events.

Keynote Speaker - Dr. John Crain

Dr. John Crain is currently an independent educational consultant working with school districts and state education agencies throughout Texas. During his 40 years in education, Dr. Crain has taught from fifth grade through community college, has worked as a principal at all three levels, and served as assistant superintendent in both Dallas ISD and Highland Park ISD. Dr. Crain is the author of the Texas Documentation Handbook.

Over the past three years, Dr. Crain has become an integral part of the Lake Travis ISD family providing valuable professional development and coaching for administrators.

Breakout Sessions

Each day will be anchored by three breakout sessions. Most of the presenters are your LTISD colleagues, many from the 2014-15 NextGen Cohort, who will show you the innovative teaching practices they are working on in their classrooms this year.
