The McKelvey Messenger
September 11, 2020
From the Front Office
Happy Friday everyone! We continue to be encouraged by the positive feedback we receive about teachers making the best of a tough situation and teaching their hearts out every day. We encounter kinks here and there but are impressed by the problem solving and new technology skills already being gained, whether we're 6 or 46! If there are struggles at home that we can help with in any way, please don't hesitate to reach out. You have a whole team here to support you and share ideas and strategies. We're in this together. Enjoy the weekend!

Preferred Language for Communication - A Required Survey for ALL Families
We want to make sure all families have equal access to information. Many of our families speak, read, and understand more than one language. It is important that every McKelvey family complete the survey, including those with only English spoken in the home. Please let us know how we can best support you by completing the SURVEY LINKED HERE by Friday, September 18. Thank you!

Hi from your nurses!
Hopefully all of you are staying well during these first few weeks of school.
We wanted to introduce ourselves to you and let you know that we are available for any questions/concerns related to your childrens’ health.
Please let us know if your child has any new health updates that we need to be aware of.
These may include:
New medication or a change in dosage or times
Updated immunization records
All information is kept in the student’s health records so we have it in case of an emergency.
For now, the best way to contact us is via email.

Curbside Checkout was a Huge Success
Shout out to Mrs. Shone and Mrs. Reames and the whole team who worked to put more books in the hands of our readers! Books checked out yesterday should be enjoyed for at least 2 weeks and NOT returned in next week's drop-off. That one is for the classroom books provided to all students at the beginning of the school year, often placed in Ziploc bags with reading levels noted. We appreciate your help in spreading the word to prevent confusion. :) We'll help each other through.
