Week of September 7-11, 2015

Enjoy a fun Labor Day

Don't dare check emails until tonight. Don't dare come inside until you have to. Don't dare think about school until you have had a chance to be with your families, friends, and food of your choice! We hope you have enjoyed this long weekend. We have a lot happening at the CREST this week. Don't forget to check your calendar and emails daily. Here's to all of us for a great 2 weeks down and a short one to go for this week!

See the Adjusted Guided Reading and Lunch Schedule

You shared via the form last week, and we listened. We'll try this schedule this week to see if it runs smoother. Keep brainstorming to troubleshoot how we can continue to improve! Thanks so much for your continued support and cheerleading for our cafeteria staff!!

Message about BOG3 from your Assistant Principal

To All,

Next Wednesday, Sept. 9, we will have our state BOG3 test for all of our 3rd graders. This is a very important test because it measures the students' present level of performance in ELA. We want our students to do their very best.

The test is very important as well as your instructional time and instructional planning time. With this being said, Wednesday will be a regular schedule day except for guided reading, which will resume as testing is completed.

Please talk with your students to prepare them for no talking in the hallways during transition from one area to another. Please monitor students during bathroom time as well. We will be testing in the third grade classrooms, ESL room, EC room, guidance room, Title 1 room, and speech room.

I will make an announcement once testing is completed.

I appreciate everyone working together to make this a successful day for our third grade students.

Duties & Details

1. Morning duties this week: Kindergarten. We really need help starting at 7:00 instead of 7:15. Please come as early as you can. Breakfast for car riders and walkers ends at 7:40. Please have students from the gym to the cafeteria at 7:10 to begin as soon as they are able to begin eating. We ask that students have about 10 minutes to eat breakfast. That means, the first group of breakfast goers will return to the gym until all are released at 7:30. Remember that K-2 should wear their backpacks with lunch tags attached to breakfast.

2. We HAVE a winner. Crystal Randall is getting together a group of students to do the Pledge of Allegiance for the September 15 County Commissioners Meeting at 6pm. Students will need to be there by 5:50. Thank you all for your willingness to get this accomplished!

3. Lunch times...We think we have a possible solution. Please see the attached Guided Reading schedule updates, lunch schedule changes, etc. We're modifying when second and fifth grades come to lunch. Also, guided reading times have also been adjusted. We'll try this new schedule this week. Please be troubleshooting, as we really appreciate all the solutions you all shared via the survey last week about Food Issues.

4. Be sure you've sent your SPELLING BEE winning names to Lynn Mull by the end of the day tomorrow, 9/8/15.

5. Look over this week's "homework" for all staff...Have you?????? (See form attached.)
